Sayanim: mossad’s Secret Global Civilian Network

In his 1990 book By Way of Deception, former mossad case officer Victor Ostrovsky revealed the existence of “sayanim” (thousands of jewish civilians living abroad who voluntarily assist israeli intelligence without being full agents). These helpers, required to be 100% jewish and loyal first to israel, quietly supply safe houses, vehicles, medical care, banking services, and cover identities in every country where mossad operates.

The system functions as an unpaid, worldwide logistics backbone, allowing the agency to move and hide assets with minimal paperwork or traces. Ostrovsky noted the mossad’s casual attitude: even if a sayan is exposed, the worst outcome is simply relocating them to israel. This parasitic diaspora network prioritizes Tel Aviv over the laws and security of host nations.
