Japan’s ‘Chernobyl – Documentary

In 2011, a tsunami caused an accident at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant. Due to flooding, it was de-energised. Cooling systems failed, and several explosions ensued, followed by a powerful release of radiation at the nuclear power plant. People had minutes to evacuate. Many did not suspect that they were leaving their homes forever.

It would take decades to eliminate the consequences of the accident. But citizens have already been allowed to return to some areas.
